Company Section

Age

Company Section is for children aged between 11 (school year 7) and 18 (school year 13) years of age from when they join secondary school.

Day and times

Company Section runs every Tuesday evening between 7.45pm – 10.00pm except during Christmas, Easter, summer holidays and half term breaks (these dates are confirmed throughout the year).  Please note that the young people finish their activities at 9.30pm and play games until 10.00pm and can therefore be picked at any point between these times.

Uniform

The children are required to wear the correct uniform on Tuesday evenings which comprises of:

·         Black trousers

·         Blue BB/GA shirt- please ask to order

·         BB tie – please ask to order

·         BB belt – please ask to order

·         BB/GA arm bands – please ask to order

·         BB/GA  hat – please ask to order

·         Black shoes

Subs

Subs are £50 a year which is paid in September; this covers all materials and activities throughout the year, cheques to be made payable to 6^th West Kent BB/GA. 

If you have more than one child in the company the second child’s annual fee is reduced by £5 and the third child’s reduced by £10.  For example, if you have three children in the Company Section the annual fee would be £50 + £45 + £40 = £135.

Tuesday Evenings

During the evening the young people take part in achievement classes to earn badges; these include first aid, home safety, photography, woodwork, cooking and bible-studies.   There are also physical activities such as snooker, table tennis, volleyball, and football that they can enjoy together.   The young people may bring a change of clothes with them to participate in the games and classes.  Sweets are available for the young people to buy throughout the evening.

After the Annual Display in May (see Annual Display section) the girls and boys are taken by the staff from the church hall to Hall Place each week for a variety of sports and games till the end of the summer term and returned to the church hall for collection at normal time.  During this time the young people can wear their own clothes.  It is during this time that the promoted Junior Section boys and girls are invited to attend Company Section to join in the games and make new friends.

Competitions

Throughout the year the young people are encouraged to take part in various competitions with other companies in West Kent and London.  These include bible quizzes, drill, bowling, football, snooker, volleyball, swimming, table tennis, badminton, cross country, sports day and first aid.
